Where was Wuthering Heights filmed?
Emerald Fennell's bold new take on Emily Bronte's novel plays out the doomed passion of Cathy and Heathcliff against the wild uplands of Yorkshire. The production shot on the real moors and ruined mills of the Yorkshire Dales, the landscape as fierce as the story.

Filming Wuthering Heights: locations and how to visit
Emerald Fennell took her cameras deep into Swaledale, the northernmost and most brooding of the Yorkshire Dales, where drystone walls climb the fells and stone villages sit tight against the weather. It is a landscape that needs no set dressing: green valley floor, high heather moor and an enormous open sky.
Above the hamlet of Healaugh, near Reeth, a gritstone ridge became the vantage point over the film's Wuthering Heights, all wind and long views down the dale. Below it, in the Old Gang valley, the ruined lead-smelting mill supplies the story's weathered outbuildings, its stone walls scoured by more than a century of moorland weather. The valley itself, around Low Row, gives the film its timeless backbone of barns and pasture.
To follow the trail, drive the B6270 the length of Swaledale from Richmond to Keld, pausing at Reeth, Gunnerside and Muker. Wear proper boots for the moor, pick a clear day, and let the walking do the rest.
