Visiting Forks: a set-jetting guide. The visitor centre is the hub of the pilgrimage, handing out Twilight maps and staging a 'Bella's truck' photo opportunity that fans line up for. There is no grand set to tour here, the pleasure is in the recognition, in seeing the ordinary streets and the misty treeline that the books and films turned into something charged.

The wilder draw lies a short drive away on the coast at La Push, the First Beach of the Quileute lands that recurs through the series. It is a dramatic, free Pacific beach strewn with driftwood, about twenty minutes from town and open to visitors who respect the community whose home it is. Watch the tides and the weather closely, both shift fast out here, and sea stacks rise offshore when the water pulls back.

Use Forks as your base and treat the whole trip as a slow tour of a moody, rain-soaked corner of the Northwest. Beyond the Twilight spots, the Hoh Rain Forest is a scenic drive away, all dripping moss and towering trees, and nearby Rialto Beach offers another wild, storm-tossed strand. Pack waterproofs and lean into the grey, the constant drizzle is not a flaw of the trip, it is the very atmosphere the saga was built on.
